St Aulaye came to Mansle for a friendly afternoons cricket. 17th June 2018
This was a sunny afternoon in Mansle the rain had not arrived as planned! As this was a return match we Tossed the coin Mansle decided to Bat. Robin and Abdull took to the field and started what was considered carefully and without to much trouble until Robin thought he was as fast as THE FLASH for a quick single that never was. So 1 lost wicket and a lot of overs left the battle continued. Mansle scored with little pace but strongly hitting the bad balls. A few overs later the wickets started to tumble is this a normal Mansle performance you ask! Not this time, at 95 for 5 after 23 overs Mansle looked a little worried the Captain only lasted 2 balls... head in hand he walked off. Up stepped Mukesh to settle the middle order! wickets kept on falling for silly swings of the ball. Until Zeeshan fired quick 30 runs making the score 122 a respectable scorer we thought if the game finished now we could defend this they thought. Not so Haseed tried but failed to add too many more to the total until Rubesh arrived and took charge of the bat. 61 run parternetship for the last two wickets saw Mansle reach the dizzy heights of 180 from 35 overs.
A good start to the afternoon we thought can we defend this score???
St Aulaye came to bat after a good Tea and plenty of cake!
at 23 for 5 after 8 overs there was a problem Their Captain lost his wicket for a cheap Duck off great bowling Moheb new signing for this year. Wickets kept on falling score did not rise to greatly but the Mantle kept the pressure with some great field changes they applied more and more pressure until they could not keep going. St Aulaye where all out for 81 on a run out. the imprint on the grass would have been a photo finish. But a great day of cricket was had by both clubs.
Well done Mansle ! kept up the good work.
